Come out and join in some family fun while getting in some much-needed exercise at the 12th Annual Monster Dash Fun Run. It takes place on Oct. 19, 2013 at 8 a.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

This cute Halloween themed fun run benefits the Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types (F.I.R.S.T.), a national nonprofit organization devoted to helping families affected by ichthyosis. The local fun run was started by Dawn and Joe Johnson and is designed to raise awareness as well as the much-needed funds to help support its research into the causes, treatments, and cures for ichthyosis. In their first 11 years they’ve generated over $105,000, educated the public, and had a great time.

There will be donuts, kolaches, bananas, and water provided. In addition they will have Smoothie King, Angie’s Cake Balls, Caricatures by Jody and two Texans cheerleaders. Trophies awarded per age group, medals given to all children under 12, and a costume contest. A wonderful raffle drawing is held after the run with great prizes donated by local businesses.
