FCCLA members to host Pink Out Football Game

In Lifestyle by Reporter News

Pink will definitely be the look at the Mustang Varsity Football game October 25 when those attending the game participate in the third annual Pink Out game.

Sponsored by Family, Career and Community Leaders of America or FCCLA, the event is held to raise breast cancer education and awareness. Club members are currently taking orders for shirts to be worn at the game.

All proceeds are given to the American Cancer Society. Last year the group under the direction of Melissa Schwartz and Linda Smith, donated more than $1000 to the ACS.

Orders are being taken at FHS and forms can be picked up from the receptionist’s desk at the school. Shirts will also be sold that night at the football game.

To be a part of FCCLA, the student must be enrolled in a Family Consumer Science course or have taken one in the past. The purpose of FCCLA is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education.

Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
