Addie Ruth Thomas Faist, 79, of Hillcrest Village, TX went to Heaven on Monday, September 16, 2013.

She was born on July 13, 1934 to Gordon Thomas and Lois Dibrell Thomas in Seguin, TX. She was named after her two grandmothers and was a true Proverbs Woman.

She married Norman P. Faist Jr. August 22, 1958 in Seguin. Together they shared 55 years of love, devotion, and adventure. She loved her church and was never any happier than when worshiping in church with her family sitting around her. One of her greatest joys was beginning her day with her beloved Norman sitting in the living room having morning prayer and devotion.

She loved people unconditionally and unreserved. People who only knew her for an hour felt loved by her. Her family never doubted her love for a moment. She was a devoted faithful wife, committed mother, and she delighted in each of her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Most of all she loved her Savior Jesus Christ and talked about Him always. We know that she is walking with Him today in perfect joy.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Norman P. Faist Jr.; her daughter, Jill and her husband David; her sons, Gary and Reid; her grandchildren, Dave, Travis and his wife Cassandra, Anna, Julie, and Daniel; her great granddaughter, Caroline; her nieces, Maggie, Molly and Carrie; her many God Children; and countless family and friends that she loved dearly.

The Going Home Celebration is to be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 611 West South Street, Alvin, TX 77511 with Rev. Linda Snow, Rev. Jerry Barnes and Rev. Bobby Weber officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall.

There will be a grave side service at 1:00 P.M. at the Confederate Cemetery, 110 Cemetery Rd. (Bypass 35 & FM 517), Alvin, TX. Pallbearers will be Gary Faist, Reid Faist, David White, Dave White, Travis White and Daniel White.
