Great communities like Friendswood just don’t happen by chance. Friendswood was founded some 118 years ago on the values to support an ideal place to live and raise a family. Community leaders since that time have strived to continually improve our City and provide services that qualify Friendswood to be recognized as one of the most desirable places in the USA to live.
Our City Council and Staff asked a large volunteer group to look at our current needs to maintain the quality of life our citizens deserve and expect. From a list totaling nearly one hundred million dollars, the volunteer committee prioritized and narrowed down the list of projects to $24.85 million in four categories: Public Safety – Construct a new Fire Station and expand existing Station #4 -$6,565,000, Expand and remodel existing Library – $2,525,000, Expand and Improve existing Parks and acquire land for future Parks – $7,285,000. and Improve City streets – $7,710,000.
I applaud our City Council for their foresight to address these issues and their wisdom and courage to call for a Bond Election to allow our community to review these needs and the opportunity to vote to move our City forward.
Let’s Vote Yes for Friendswood.
