Dawson High School’s Ovation Theatre presents the Shakespearean classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Oct. 15-17 and 19. All four shows will run at 7:30 p.m. in the DHS auditorium, 2050 Cullen Boulevard.

As royals Theseus and Hippolyta prepare to marry, four young lovers from their kingdom flee to the forest — away from their parents’ disapproval.

In the woods, however, the lovers find their lives re-complicated when they stumble across feuding fairy king and queen Oberon and Titania.

Amid this conflict enter the mischievous fairy servant Puck and his accomplices, who administer a magic potion that reverses the objects of the four lovers’ affection.

When a group of local rustics rehearsing a play for the royal wedding also seek the quiet of the forest, the mayhem reaches new heights of hilarity.

Come enjoy this Shakespearean classic that uses one crazy night in the woods to deal with issues of love, break-up, marriage, life, death and more.

Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults or $7 at the door.
