Pearland Lady Oilers

The Pearland Lady Oilers destroyed Manvel last week by the scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-9. The Lady Oilers were led by Alex Aguilera with 13 kills; Cassidy Nussman with eight kills; and Nicole Kirsner with eight kills; Hannah Ofczarzak had seven kills. Katarina Morton had 24 digs and three aces. Amanda Chapa added 17 digs and two aces. Caroline Shecterle and Chelsey Watts led the way in assists.

The Lady Oilers then faced off against Dobie for sole possession of second place and came away with a big 25-17, 25-12, 25-11 win. The Lady Oilers were led by Cassidy Nussman with 13 kills; Nicole Kirsner with eight and Alex Aguilera with seven. Katarina Morton had 27 digs and Amanda Chapa had 18 in the winning cause.

The Lady O’s improve to 26-8 on the season and 6-1 in district play after the first round of district action.

Dawson Lady Eagles

The Dawson Lady Eagles won both of their matches last week including a huge win over the Friendswood Lady Mustangs. Setter Amelia Rodenhad a key role in leading the Lady Eagles to both victories.

Dawson swept Friendswood 25-22, 25-22, 25-18. With Gabbi Moreno out due to surgery, Amelia took control of the offense and ran it to perfection. The offense was led by Kelsey Ediger, racking up 12 kills with 0 hitting errors. Jordan Brown led the defense with 20 digs.

Dawson beat Texas City in three sets last Friday 25-14, 25-12, 25-5.

“All of the girls played well and continued their district run, taking our record to 7-0,” Dawson head coach Jason Karim said.
