Friendswood Voters Pass Bonds

After the polls closed on Tuesday night, it was soon apparent that the citizens of Friendswood were in favor of all four bond propositions on the ballot.

The bond measures included funds for the fire department, library, parks, and streets.

Over 3,000 voters turned out to vote. A surprisingly large number considering there were no candidates for public office on the ballot.

The final tally was as follows:

Proposition 1 – Fire Stations
For: 2,263
Against: 1,083

Proposition 2 – Library
For: 2,233
Against: 1,122

Proposition 3 – Parks
For: 1,961
Against: 1,389

Proposition 4 – Streets
For: 2,274
Against: 1,065
