The discovery of a wounded teenager left in the attic of an empty Friendswood home is part of an investigation of a Nov. 23 accident on Friendswood Drive, according to Friendswood Police reports.

It was shortly before 2 a.m. when police arrived at the accident to find a dark blue H3 rolled over with airbags deployed and blood inside the vehicle, police said, but no occupants. Nearby witnesses reported a man had been carrying a woman and banging on doors for help in the 2300 block of Opal Springs Lane.

An officer checking the area found an open garage door at a home for sale, entered and found the 17-year-old League City girl in the attic. The teenager was unable to move, according to police, who later discovered she had suffered a broken pelvis. She was able to identify the other people in the vehicle, and 20-year-old William Fitzpatrick later turned himself in to police.

Fitzpatrick has bonded out and is charged with felony accident causing injury. The teenaged girl is expected to recover.
