Pearland Grit Run raises $10,000

Pearland High School cross country runners present a $10,000 check from the Grit Run benefit to Hannah Hendricks and her family for medical expenses.

On Nov. 16, the PHS cross country and track/field teams hosted the first annual Grit Run 4K obstacle course to benefit Hendricks, a member of the girls’ cross country team.

Hendricks was struck by a car this summer as she was jogging early in the morning. Although she underwent several major surgeries to her lower body, she has vowed to make a full recovery and run again for the cross country team.

Because of Hendricks’ grit, her team and the school community banded together to support her and her family through this challenge.
