Students Apply ‘Grit’ to Good Citizenship

In Lifestyle by Reporter News

In honor of Veterans Day and Pearland Independent School District’s grit initiative, Sam Jamison Middle School students created a flag poster for display on the wall — with responses about how they are “gritty” citizens.

During their campus grit class, Sam Jamison students are studying historic individuals — like Helen Keller and Jackie Robinson — who showed determination amid challenges.

In turn, students are learning to embrace hard work and perseverance in the classroom and beyond.
