Earl Humbird will seek election to Position 6 on the Alvin ISD Board of Trustees in the May 10, 2014 election. Humbird said that he is looking forward to returning to serve the students, staff and citizens in the Alvin ISD.
Humbird and his family are members of St. John’s Catholic Church. He served as President of the school board in 2012 and is former member of the Gulf Coast Association of School Boards and the Texas Association of School Boards. Humbird, who is 54, is employed as an operator at Lyondell Basell.
“It was my honor and privilege to serve as a school board member from 2003 to 2012 and I am ready to return. School board service involves time and commitment, which I willingly offer,” said Humbird.
“The school district has accomplished a great deal over the past few years, including the passage of a bond election in 2013 that will provide a third high school and more elementary and junior high schools for a growing student population along the 288 corridor and in the Alvin and Manvel, as well as technology to better prepare our students for a global economy,” he said.
“The district has outstanding teachers and staff members who are doing a great job preparing students for a lifetime of learning. I look forward to bringing my experience to the board and continuing the district’s commitment to provide an exemplary education for every student,” he said.
