Friendswood Girl Killed in Crash

A 16-year old Friendswood High School student died in a one-car accident on FM 528 at Moore Road at approximately 9:50 a.m.

According to witnesses, a Buick Rendezvous driven by Brittany Lee Findley was eastbound on FM 528 when she lost control and hit a light pole. The vehicle was on fire when an officer first arrived and the driver was trapped inside. Additional police units arrived and attempted to extricate the driver and to control the fire with fire extinguishers.

When the fire department arrived, they put out the fire and extricated the victim. The 16-year old girl was rushed to Clear Lake Hospital by Friendswood EMS but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

FM 528 was shut down at Victory Lane as the power company repaired downed power lines and as officers worked to investigate the accident and clear the roadway.

Friendswood officers, accompanied by a police chaplain, notified the next of kin.

Friendswood High School officials have also been notified.
