Christine Mildred Lowe Tucker, devoted wife and outstanding mother, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

She was born July 2, 1922 in Lone Oak, TX to Judge Ellis and Flora Belle Dunn Lowe. Christine graduated from Lone Oak High School and moved to Houston, TX in 1943.

She owned and operated Santa Rosa Salon of Beauty, Park Place Blvd., Houston, TX for 36 years and later was employed at The Pavilion Salon, Westheimer, Houston, TX as assistant manager and retired in 1987.

She and her husband Ralph lived in April Sound, Montgomery, TX for 27 years. After Ralph passed away in August, 2009 she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law briefly in Friendswood, TX and later resided at Windsong Village convalescent home in Pearland, TX.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Tucker, her parents Judge Ellis and Flora Belle Lowe, her sister Geraldine McCamant, her brother Billy Ed Lowe and her son Ervin Cris Simpson.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Simpson Thornton and husband William F. Thornton, Jr. of Friendswood, TX, her granddaughters, Terry Gummelt and husband Brock of Elgin, TX and Lori Balzen and husband Mark; her great grandchildren, Ethan and Travis Balzen of Austin, TX; her stepsons, Sid Tucker and family and Joe Tucker and wife Connie and family; many other relatives and cherished friends.

Christine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed every day. She touched many lives with her love and words of wisdom. She had a strong faith in God and was a long time member of April Sound Church, Montgomery, TX.

She loved to celebrate her life with her family and others. Christine was affectionately known as Momma Tish.

Services will be held in Greenville, TX at a later date.
