A suspect in the murder of Arrijana Hill has been taken into custody by officers of the Pearland Police Department. The black male suspect, who was a juvenile at the time of the offense, was taken into custody on May 13, 2014 at approximately noon at Pasadena Memorial High School. He was transported to the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention center, where he will be held on the charge of Capital Murder.

During the course of the investigation, it was found that Ms. Hill was pregnant with twins at the time of her death, thus the enhancement of the charge to Capital Murder. The suspect, who was an acquaintance of the victim, attended Dawson High School with her. The preliminary cause of Ms. Hill’s death was listed by the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office as manual strangulation and stab wounds.

Based on the investigation, which included DNA analysis, a custody order for the suspect was issued. The analysis also determined paternity of the unborn twins and indicated that the suspect was the father. The case will be prosecuted by the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office.
