In other FISD news, school lunch fees will increase slightly next year. Trustees approved a 10 cent hike in lunch prices, to $3.10, for junior high and the high school campus, and to $2.20 for elementary campuses for the coming year.
“Participation fees,” those fees collected for activities such as cheerleading, sports, band and speech/debate, etc. will be unchanged next year. The fees range from $50 to $175, depending on school level and activity, and are used to fund stipends, student travel, competition and other expenses.
