Lige J. Cox, 85, of Pearland, TX passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

He was born on March 6, 1929 to Marion E. Cox and Bell Arnold in Robeline, LA. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a young man an loved old planes. Lige was an extremely hard working man all his life. He labored in construction, cleared land at an older age and labored at so many odd jobs to provide for his family. He attended First Church in Pearland and participated in their senior activities and was very involved in the church. He was a Christian and lived his life as such.

He cared for his wife so lovingly in sickness and health; he especially cared for her the many times she was ill; although he was in pain and elderly he was at her side EVERYDAY and did administer her health care as well as all the cooking, cleaning and laundry. Lige also cared for his stepson, Gerald, whom has health problems as well.

Lige was always doing for others and for himself; he was always “tinkering” with something. Even in his last days, he would not be still and if he were still he would be doing “something.”

He was such a good man, good person and was liked by all. He made friends with many and will be remembered by all.

Lige is survived by his wife Ruth Cox; stepson Gerald Roberts; sister Barbara Ann Young; brothers, Calvin Ray Cox, Marion E. Cox and James Floyd Cox; stepdaughter Cathy Beck; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
