Principal Fundraises the Roof

In Lifestyle, News by Reporter News

The Friendswood Mustangs’ Principal and #1 fan is on the roof of Friendswood High School and is allegedly refusing to come down until he has raised enough money to send students to national competitions. At least that’s the story according to his “Get Griffon to the Game” gofundme page.

The money is intended to help various competitive student organizations cover travel expenses as they attend national contests. Organizations include: Forensics, Academic Decathlon, Science Fair, TSA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA, HOSA, FFA, BPA, DECA and Computer Club.

Principal Griffon will be visible on the roof during the game this Friday with various “luxury items” (tent, radio, snacks, etc.). According to the site, as certain fundraising goals are met, Griffon will be adorned with things like blue face paint, a feather boa, and matching blue hair while his luxury items are confiscated.

So far the campaign has raised over $3,000. Donors can contribute via this website or throw some “cash in the can” that will be passed around at the FHS home football game on Friday, October 31.
