Legends of Friendswood Buys Car for FISD

The Legends of Friendswood non profit group known for its annual golf tournament honoring the memory of MIke Doiron recently donated $10,000 to Friendswood ISD to purchase a white Expedition for the district’s Special Ed Transition Center.

The Legends’ board of directors visited the Transition Center to see the vehicle and joined the students, teachers and administrators who were there admiring the new purchase.

Special Education staff members included Renee Fischer, Executive Director Karen Deshotel, Diane Hutchinson, and Arielle Downing and their students. Joining them were Superintendent Trish Hanks, Legends board members Cheryl Rollen, Marilyn Doiron, Susan Doiron (in front right), Roxanne and Mark Gill, and Forrest Williams and FISD’s Deputy Superintendent Thad Roher and Transportation Director Mike Jones.

Legends golf tournament began in 1990 and since that time have given FISD more than $100,000 for students and teachers.
