The city last Monday checked another item off the to-do list for the Shadow Creek Ranch sports complex.
Council unanimously approved entering an interlocal cooperative pricing agreement with the Texas Buy Board for the purchase of lighting for the park, slated to open by the end of 2015.
“One of the things we planned on was purchasing directly, rather than going through the contractor and paying a little bit of markup, the lighting for that project,” City Manager Clay Pearson said.
The lighting contract was in the amount of $883,000.
City Council in August awarded a construction bid for the sports park and is moving forward with an agreement for two local MUD boards, MUD No. 26 and Brazoria-Fort Bend County MUD No. 1, to help finance water and drainage improvements at the site, located on Kingsley Drive north of Shadow Creek Parkway.
