“Pearland Day in Austin” in February and “Brazoria County Day 2015” in March are two upcoming events that spotlight the local area at the state level.

Pearland Day in Austin is being organized by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. It began in 2007 to bring more awareness among lawmakers to concerns of the city.

Sponsorships range from $500 Silver Level to three available Platinum Level sponsorships for $2,500. For information, call 281-485-3634.

All residents and those who do business in Brazoria County are invited to join “Brazoria County Day 2015” on March 1-2. This bi-annual event is held to coincide with the Texas Legislature.

The schedule of events in Austin includes a legislative breakfast, recognition of the delegation in both the House and Senate and the signature event: The World’s Largest Shrimp Cocktail.

Brazoria County Day in Austin was established in 1973 by a handful of Brazosport Chamber of Commerce board members to show support for and to representatives and senator in Austin – while promoting Brazoria County to all legislators and spotlighting its location on the Texas Gulf Coast with a shrimp-themed party.

The host hotel for Brazoria County Day is the Hilton Austin on 4th Street.

“Goody bags” will be distributed to the first 300 attendees to check in at the Brazoria County Day registration room at the Hilton. Companies that want to provide promotional items for this packet may contact their chamber of commerce or the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County.

Funds are still being collected to cover the cost of the event. Contributors will be listed on the website and on sponsor boards at the event. Donations can be made online at
