Friendswood Senior Sarah Redding found her name on yet another award list for her senior season. The Texas Tech signee racked up numerous awards in her final season as a Mustang. Redding, who has started for the Mustangs since her sophomore year and played on the two State finalist teams, was the “go to hitter” for the Mustangs this season. The Mustangs moved into 6A and one the toughest volleyball districts in the State. Redding is second in school history behind Jill Bergeson for greatest number of kills in a season. She was selected as the 24-6A Offensive Player of the Year, while playing Outside Hitter, a new position for her. She was recently named to the Texas Sports Writers All State Team (Honorable Mention). Redding was also named to the TGCA All-State Team and the State All-Star team. Earlier this season she accepted to play with Houston area athletes in GHVCA All Star game held in January.
