Crosspoint Church, located at 1134 Old Alvin Road is hosting their 2nd Health & Fitness Expo on February 7th, 9m – 1pm.
Crosspoint Church is among many congregations locally and across the country in recent years that have decided to make health and wellness a major priority. The health ministries’ efforts range from exercise tips, scheduling mammograms, bone density screening to cooking demonstrations .
The objective of the Health & Fitness expo is to empower the community and parishioners with tools to begin and maintain a healthy lifestyle though diet, exercise, nutrition and positive mental health and not be restricted by health problems, lack of energy and weight issues.
“Like most, I’ve started and stopped more than once my New Year’s plan to health and fitness, only to come up short,” said Tom Allen, the Lead Pastor at Crosspoint Church. “For me, the biggest missing element was the reason behind my plan. Never once did I do it to bring God glory. I’ve found that success requires faith, food, fitness, focus and friends. Those are the five keys to success.”
Over 40 Exhibitors are supporting the expo including the VIc Coppinger YMCA, Title Boxing Club, Christian Fitness Fanatics, H-E-B Pearland, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Hermann Southeast, Pearland Pediatrics, Dentistry For Children and Nutrition World.
Allen hopes to provide a place where everyone in Pearland…no matter how old or young, no matter whether they have ever exercised or are convinced you are allergic to sweat…they can start to be fit, whatever that looks like for them. He hopes everyone can go away with one change they can make to make 2015 a healthy year.
Approximately 250 people attended last years expo and the church hopes the Health & Fitness Expo will become an annual event.
