Chery LeAnn Heflin, 58, of Pearland, TX. passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015. She was born on October 29, 1956 to George and Nina Heflin in Tulsa, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Nina Heflin.

Cheryl is survived by her brothers; Russell Heflin and wife Jody of Pearland and Wesley Heflin and wife Tracy of San Angelo. Nephews; Ryan Heflin and wife Heather of Humble, Adam Heflin and wife Lindsey and Travis Heflin all of Pearland. Evan Heflin and niece Natasha Heflin of San Angelo. Great nieces; Sadie Heflin, Emma Heflin and great nephew’s; Jack Heflin and Bentley Heflin. Her uncles; Boyce Heflin of Grove, OK. and Bill Crutchfield of Broken Arrow, OK. Cheryl is also survived by cousins; Vicki Hendrickson and family of Owasso, OK. and Cari Wilson and family of Midlothian, TX.

The Heflin family moved to Pearland in 1970. Cheryl attended Madding Elementary and Hartman Junior High School before moving to Pearland High School and graduating in 1975. She was a Pearland Prancer for 3 years and a Lieutenant Commander of the Prancer’s for 2 years. Cheryl attended North Texas State University and St. Edwards University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business in 2004.

Cheryl lived in Austin for almost 20 years and worked for Tx Dot where she retired in 2008. She was a paralegal and worked at Rite Services from 2012-2014. She also had an editing business from 2008 to the present time.

Cheryl has been battling breast cancer for 2 ½ years. She had a positive attitude through all of the chemo and radiation. She has had a clean bill of health for 6 months and was getting ready for another surgery in February.

One of Cheryl’s favorite sayings was “Everything happens for a reason exactly when and how it’s supposed to happen.

Friends are cordially invited to a memorial service with the family on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M., 311 North Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX. 77546 281-992-7200 with Chaplin Winnie Wolfe officiating.
