JoAnn Suttle Mark of Victoria, Texas passed away with her family by her
side on January 7th in Pleasanton, Texas. She was 83 years old.

JoAnn was born on April 16th, 1931 in Kosse, Texas to Nancy and Roscoe
Suttle. In 1950 she married Roy D. Mark of Pearland, Texas. In 1960 they
moved to Victoria. JoAnn answered the company phones and helped dispatch
crews for the Dia Log company where Roy served as District Manager for
many years. JoAnn and Roy were a well-known team in the South Texas oil
business.

First and foremost, JoAnn focused on raising her children and caring for
her family. JoAnn shaped the lives of her children and family, providing
unconditional love, support and encouragement. Her husband’s work
required extensive travel and JoAnn ran things at home. She delighted in
being a grandparent and great grandmother. JoAnn played an active and
supportive role in the lives of her grandchildren.

Upon retirement JoAnn and Roy enjoyed exploring the country in their motor
home. They traveled extensively and ventured far up into Alaska and
Canada.
After a period of traveling and exploring, Roy and JoAnn settled on Grand
Marais, MN as their summer home. They spent summers on the shores of Lake
Superior near the Canadian border where they made many new friends and
enjoyed the beautiful weather.

For over fifty years, JoAnn was a member of the First United Methodist
Church in Victoria. JoAnn loved her church and church family. She was
active in United Methodist Women and held many offices in that
organization. She was also active in Emmaus Walk and her Reunion group.

JoAnn will be greatly missed by many. She is preceded in death by her
loving husband of 64 years, Roy D. Mark, brother Howard Suttle, and by her
son, Roy S. Mark. She is survived by daughter Glynda Martin and husband
Johnny, son Boyd Mark and wife Lisa; grandchildren Jahnna Heirholzer and
husband Kevin, Mark Martin and his wife Brandy, Isabella and Elena Mark,
great grandchildren Jace, Kiley, Whitney, and dear brother-in-law John
“Mickey” Mark and wife Carleen of Pearland.

There will be no formal memorial service and a Celebration of Life will be
held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the
charity of your choice. Anyone wishing to leave condolences for the family, share memories or sign the guestbook may do so at www.hurleyfuneralhome.com.
