In an effort to promote the upcoming Alvin ISD Health and Wellness Fair, Fever, the Mascot from First Choice ER, stopped by numerous Alvin ISD elementary schools to invite students, parents, and community members to the fair. The 8th Annual Health and Wellness Fair is scheduled for Feb. 3 at Fairview Junior High, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
“Our expectation is that this event will provide community members with information about important issues such as health and wellness, drug awareness, mental health, and fitness,” said Ana Pasarella, Alvin ISD family engagement coordinator.
It is expected that more than thirty health and fitness organizations will be in attendance. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free lung and high blood pressure screenings, body mass and weight measurements, along with vouchers for complimentary immunizations.
First Choice Emergency Room, the new Pearland Medical Center, Stephen F. Austin Community Health Center, Fairway Chiropractic, Thelma Ley Anderson YMCA, the Alvin UTMB Health Pediatric/Adult Care, and DiabetesAmerica LLC, are just some of the many health organizations that will be participating in the Districtwide event.
“We are excited to provide support for the Alvin ISD Health and Wellness Fair as we want to contribute to the health and well-being of families living in the Alvin ISD Communities,” said Jeannie Guidry, Field Marketing Representative for First Choice ER.
All community members are invited to attend the fair. As part of the entertainment for the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy student presentations by the physical education classes from various elementary campuses.
