Planning for an annual casino night fundraiser for Friendswood Animal Advocates is under way.

The fourth annual “Bets for Pets” Casino Night is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2320 Hatfield Road in Pearland. The fundraiser, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., includes gaming, a live and silent auction, entertainment, appetizers and cocktails.

Thus far, raffle auction items include Disney tickets, a wine-tasting tour, autographed memorabilia and more. A Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament and tables open at 6:30 p.m.

The March event is the largest fundraiser for Friendswood Animal Advocates, a nonprofit that supports the local animal shelter and area rescue groups. Formed in 2009 when a group of volunteers petitioned city council for a new animal shelter, the group has helped create a pit bull adoption policy and works to increase funding and volunteers at the shelter. Among other things, the group also provides funds to vet animals, adoption incentives and promotes adoptable animals.

Pre-sale tickets for the FAA fundraiser are $25, and include $5 in chips and a door prize entry. Tickets at the door will be $30. Sponsorships begin at $150.
