The Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute (TCCRI) announced the unanimous election of Senator Larry Taylor (R – Friendswood) as the new President of the Research Institute’s Board of Directors.
“It is an honor to accept the role of TCCRI President for the 2015-2016 term,” said Senator Larry Taylor. “Like many other conservative legislators, I trust the valuable support TCCRI provides to help enact meaningful reform in Austin and I look forward to the opportunity to lead as we continue to be a part of moving this state forward.”
Beginning his second regular session in the Texas Senate, Taylor serves as Chairman of the Senate Education Committee and member of the Senate Finance, Business and Commerce and Intergovernmental Relations Committees. During his tenure in the Texas House of Representatives Taylor chaired the House Republican Caucus for two terms.
“Larry Taylor is a man of strong character and virtue,” said TCCRI Board Vice President State Representative Geanie Morrison (R – Victoria). “He epitomizes a blend of conservative principle and common sense governance, and he’s a good friend.”
Added fellow Board member State Senator Kelly Hancock (R – North Richland Hills), “I’ve served with Larry Taylor in both the House and Senate, and as a Board Member of TCCRI. He is a courageous conservative, dedicated to the common good of all Texans, representing the best interests of his constituents.”
Sen. Larry Taylor represents Senate District 11, comprised of parts of Brazoria, Galveston, and Harris Counties. Before his election to the Texas Senate in 2012, Sen. Taylor served five terms in the Texas House of Representatives.
Founded in 1996, The Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute is committed to shaping public policy through a principled approach to state government.
