BACH Roll N’ Stroll set for March 7

In News by Reporter News

BACH children and their families, staff and volunteers invite the public to join us for the 2015 BACH Roll ‘N Stroll. Event festivities are free, and are scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, March 7, at the Brazos Mall in Lake Jackson.

Approximately 100 children who have “special needs” will participate in the Children’s Fun Run portion of the event. The Fun Run allows the children an opportunity to become involved in a friendly, non-competitive racing event, as well as giving the community a chance to share their hope. Every child is a 1st place winner and the BACH children all receive trophies and T-shirts for their participation.

Sponsors and teams have the honor of meeting those children and presenting them with their trophy on stage at the event. 128 sponsors have committed to support the event, and approximately 35 teams have formed to raise money and march around the inside of the Brazos Mall behind the Danbury Band, which is providing lively music during the parade.

BACH has been providing much-needed specialized services to injured, disabled and developmentally delayed children in Brazoria County for 42 years. BACH is a non-profit, 501(C)3 organization whose programs are supported in part by a grant from the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, the United Way of Brazoria County, donations from individuals, local church/civic groups, and corporations, as well as by private foundation grants, special events fund raising, and patient fees/insurance when applicable. In recent years, BACH has served an average of 1000 to 1250 children annually throughout Brazoria County. All of the BACH Roll ‘N Stroll event proceeds stay in Brazoria County to provide services to children and their families in our own neighborhoods.

There is still time to be a part of the 2015 BACH Roll ‘N Stroll! If you are interested in the event, phone Jenna Ford (Volunteer Event Chairperson) at 979-236-9397.
