Friends and family turned out last week to mourn the death of Pearland EMS Captain Angela Hays, who passed away Feb. 22 after a year-long battle with cancer. Her memorial service was held March 4 at First Church in Pearland. The Pearland Fire Department, along with other area fire department crews, led a procession that began at Pearland Fire Station 5 on Kirby. Members of the Pearland Fire Dept. Honor Guard carried Capt. Hays to the salutes of area fire and EMS personnel. Hays leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter and a sister. A fund has been created for Hays' daughter.
