The Friendswood High School Cheerleaders under direction of Coach Kerrie Yee, were presented with an award from Annie Stafford of The Susan G. Komen Race. They were the largest high school fundraising team and the largest participating high school walking team. Additionally, Tania Cruz of Susan G. Komen presented them with an award as one of the largest overall fundraising teams for 2015.

FHS Cheer has been asked to attend one of Susan G. Komen workshops to present their fundraising format for potential use as a blueprint for use by other high schools to promote cancer awareness and increase participation among schools in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The FHS senior cheerleaders and their parents created FHS Cheer 4 Change in 2014, a philanthropy program within the cheer program that promotes community leadership, service and fundraising among youth.
