Certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Community Leader Quentin Wiltz has announced his candidacy for Pearland City Council, Position 2 in the May 9, election. The position is currently held by Councilman Scott Sherman, who is stepping down due to term limits. Quentin plans to bring his experience in project management and community service to the position, along with a solid plan to promote and influence economic development and community awareness through civic engagement and responsible citizenship.
“It would be an honor to serve our community on Pearland City Council and continue to work in a greater capacity as I have worked for nearly a decade IN the Pearland community. I am committed to working FOR our community, and continue to build a Pearland we are all proud to call home,” says Wiltz of his candidacy.
Already, Wiltz has garnered the endorsements of both State Representatives Ron Reynolds and Alma Allen, both whose districts touch the Pearland community, along with a growing host of professional and personal supporters.
As a Pearland resident for nearly ten years, Quentin and his family have been active in the community. Quentin has served as Director Ex Officio for the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Chairman Ex-Officio for the Pearland Parks and Beautification Board, Board Member/Treasurer of his HOA, and currently serves as a Board Member for the Brazoria County Alliance for Children.
Quentin is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc (ZTL) and has served as a volunteer for the Pearland Neighborhood Center, Pastoral Council for St. Helen Catholic Church, Volunteer Coach for the Pearland YMCA, and currently Volunteers for Keep Pearland Beautiful and The Adult Reading Center of Pearland where he has worked to incorporate ESL training into local businesses. He was recently selected as a member of the Rising Stars Class 2014-15 of the League of Women Voters. Quentin has also dedicated his time and talents to numerous other organizations committed to in-school mentoring and education.
“I’ve worked tirelessly for nearly a decade promoting Economic Development and working with local businesses to strengthen our workforce and attract new businesses to Pearland as a Director on the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. I’ve spent countless hours working to ensure Pearland has the highest quality programs, facilities, and parks as the Chairman of the Pearland Parks Board. Civic engagement and Community Awareness is at the root of everything I do. Making sure we are all responsible citizens will ensure Pearland’s future growth and success.”
Quentin Wiltz and his wife Monique currently have two sons; Ethan, age 9 and Evan, age 6 who attend C.J. Harris Elementary School. Quentin Wiltz and his family are members of St. Helen’s Catholic Church and are proud and active residents in the Pearland community.
