Tommy Tune Award winners will be announced in a Tony Awards-style ceremony April 21 at the Hobby Center. As a “Best Musical” nominee, “Guys and Dolls” cast will perform during the awards show.

PHS last won the “Best Musical” award in 2013 for its production of “South Pacific” and, to date, has garnered 42 Tommy Tune award nominations.

This year, a team of theatre professionals reviewed and evaluated performances by 45 Houston-area high schools before making 164 nominations in 15 categories.

The awards are named in honor of Tony Award-winning performer, director and choreographer Tommy Tune, who grew up in Houston.
