Most of the people who came to the “Grand Opening” of the City of Friendswood’s expanded Splash Pad in Stevenson Park were kids also ready to use the new facility. Approximately 60 people attended the Friday evening (May 22) ceremony.

Parks and Recreation Citizen Advisory Board Chairman Tom Goodwin cut the ribbon to open the area, which has tripled in size, to more than 2,700 square feet, has six added features, 15 new ground sprays and a shaded area with seating for six people.

Adelle Gump, age 3, had the honor of pressing the button to turn on the Splash Pad water sprays following the ribbon cutting.
