41 FHS Choir students earn medals for State contest

FHS had 41 Choir students participating in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest on May 30. Forty students earned either gold or silver medals for their efforts.

Division One – Gold Medal solo recipients were as follows: Shelby Allison, Brian Chew, Gabi Gonzalez, Natalia Gonzalez, Christopher Johnston, Connor Krusleski, Annica Marcuccio, Marina Meche, Jonathan Moreno, Maddie Pertuis, Brenden Pumphrey, Katie Sharp, JoJo Twyford, and Noelle Zoch.

In addition, Allison was named “Outstanding Soloist” for the third consecutive year. Of the 23,000 students participating, only one percent are selected for this distinction. This is a significant accomplishment for Allison.

Division Two – Silver Medal solo recipients were the following: Nadia Asgari-Tari, Maddie Ballard, Billy Carroll, Ally Eckhart, Meranda Goodwin, Kirsten Hill, Hannah Holt, Rachel Jensen, Zack Maiberger, Emily McDonald, Alex Rudd, Clayton Senter, Brie Sharp and Carly Smith.

All three ensembles received Division One – Gold Medals; members of the ensembles were as follows: Shelby Allison, Gina Baker, Anne Balderrama, Maddie Ballard, Brian Chew, Nathan Drake, Marcus Fetty, Mackenzie Henderson, Connor Henry, Kirsten Hill, Connor Krusleski, Jana Landers, Zack Maiberger, Audrey McKee, Marina Meche, Maddie Pertuis, Caleb Petty, Elisa Rodriguez, Alex Rudd, Brie Sharp, Josh Thomas, JoJo Twyford, and Jon Yawn.
