Manvel Police Officer Clint Weekley was named Officer of the Year by Police Chief Keith Traylor. Chief Traylor describes Weekley as never backing down from an assignment and always willing to help his fellow officers and staff in the police department and other agencies.
“He is looked up to as a leader and a very well respected member of this department,” Traylor says in his Facebook post announcing the award.
Weekley began his career with Manvel PD as a telecommunications officer. After graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy he became a full time patrol officer. Weekley has continued his education and currently carries a full load of courses at Alvin College’s school of criminal justice. In addition to his law enforcement responsibilities, Weekley owns an information and technology business with several employees. He also serves as a captain in the Iowa Colony Volunteer Fire Department. And in his remaining spare time he is undergoing flight training to earn a pilot’s license.
Traylor describes Weekley’s “attitude towards his chosen profession as an example others can follow. As the chief administrator of the department I am very proud to have officers like Clint Weekley under my command.”
