The Alvin Community College Board of Regents reviewed a preliminary budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year during their meeting on June 25.

A proposed budget of $28.15 million, if approved, would include a 2-percent raise for faculty and staff and minor capital improvements. The proposal is a slight increase from the $27.37 million budget for the current year.

Tax rates for the proposal are not yet available because property value assessments for the ACC taxing district have not yet been finalized by the Brazoria County Tax Assessor-Collector.

Regents also approved $286,586 in adjustments to the current fiscal year budget which transferred funds from certain contract services and utility costs to fund equipment and services for several departments.
