A four-day safety course for children and their parents will be offered by the Friendswood Police Department this summer.
Two courses of the class known as RADKids, one for ages 5 through 7 and another for those ages 8 through 12, will be offered in July and August, respectively. It covers topics such as Internet safety, personal safety, and preventing predator tricks including physical resistance strategies. The activity-based program mixes drills, physical skills and lectures. Adult participation with each child is required.
The class for those ages 5 through 7 will be offered at Hope Lutheran Church, 1804 S. Friendswood Dr. on July 27, July 28, July 29 and July 30. All class times are 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The course designed for ages 8 through 12 will be offered at Friendswood United Methodist Church, 110 N. Friendswood Dr. on Aug. 3, 4, 5 and 6. All classes will be taught from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
