Lynda Gail Lipps Jolly, 76, of Alvin, TX passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015.  She was born May 30, 1939 to Juanita Dale Lipps in Los Angeles, CA.
Lynda grew up in Borger, TX and moved to Aransas Pass, TX where she graduated from high school in 1957. After she graduated high school, she moved back to Borger where she met the love of her life Carlos Wesley Jolly. They married on February 28, 1958 and moved to Old Ocean, TX where they had their first son Jimmy Don Jolly. The family later moved to Alvin, TX where their second child LaGwena Jolly Denney was born. Years later, Lynda obtained a secretarial position at Alvin Community College where she worked until retirement in 1992. After her retirement from ACC she assumed the permanent position of Grammy Jolly to her 3 beloved granddaughters. She enjoyed traveling with and watching her granddaughters dance and play softball. She was there for each of their accomplishments and milestones.
She was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Lipps and her husband of 35 years Carl Jolly.
Lynda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law LaGwena and Kevin Denney; son Jimmy and partner Buddy Jones all of Alvin, TX. Three granddaughters, Sarah Denney Gruetzmacher and husband Matthew, Lauren, and Melanie; and many other relatives and cherished friends.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with the family on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Jeter Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 (281) 992-7200.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Heights Baptist Church, 1591 County Rd. 144, Alvin, TX 77511 with Dr. Kyle Hargove officiating.  Interment will follow at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin, TX.
