Ruth Ferrill Bradley

In Obituaries by Reporter News

Ruth Ferrill Bradley was born in Mobile, Alabama on September 17, 1925 and peacefully passed from this earth to eternal life with her heavenly Father on August 2, 2015. There she will be joyfully reunited with her late parents, William Archie Ferrill and Edith Gertrude Ferrill; her late husband, Irvin N. Bradley, and her late sister, Marie F. Hickson. She was 89.
Ruth met Irvin while working in the banking field when she was 28. They married in 1954 and were subsequently blessed with three healthy, active children, Cynthia M. Bradley (Norman Bagwell); Rick F. Bradley (Teresa), and Candy B. Chuoke (Chris), all to whom she dedicated her life.
Later in life, her additional sources of pride and joy were her grandchildren, Evan N. Bradley (Courtney); Skye L. Murrill (Justin); Robert C. Chuoke IV, and one great granddaughter, Sage C. Bradley.
Ruth and Irvin raised their family and resided in Mobile until Irvin passed away in 1987. She then relocated to Texas to live with her daughters, Cindy and Candy. Although she resided in Texas for the last 28 years until her death, Ruth proudly still exemplified a true Alabama Southern Belle. She showed genuine kindness and compassion for all those around her, including all four-legged friends, personifying daily the adage,”beauty is as beauty does”.  Especially in her later years, she made it her mission to be an advocate for other less fortunate elderly persons whom she could still assist.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living and the staff of Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Friendswood for their years of dedication to and love for “Miss Ruth”. In addition, the family extends their gratitude to A*MED Hospice for their extraordinary compassion.
Services will be held at Friendswood United Methodist Church in Friendswood, Texas, 110 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546 on Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Rosemary Dubois officiating and a private interment will follow in Mobile, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Friendswood United Methodist Church, M. D. Anderson Cancer Research Institute, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486 or www.mdanderson.org/gifts or to the charity of your choice.
Condolences may be sent to the Bradley family in care of Jeter Memorial Funeral Home at www.jeterfuneralhome.com.
