Friendswood ISD met state standards for the past academic year, with two of its six campuses earning distinctions from the Texas Education Agency.
The TEA released its ratings this month. Under its STAAR testing program, districts and schools can earn one of three ratings: “Met Standard,” “Met Alternative Standard” or “Improvement Required.”
Friendswood ISD and all six campuses earned the Met Standard rating.
In addition, Friendswood High earned distinctions in math, science, post secondary readiness and Top 26 percent in closing performance gaps.
Windsong Intermediate earned distinctions in science, post secondary readiness and placed in the top 25 percent in student progress.
The TEA announced ratings for more than 1,200 school districts and charters, as well as the more than 8,600 campuses statewide. The report reveals 94 percent of school districts and charters across Texas have achieved the rating of “Met Standard.”
