Keep Pearland Beautiful will be hosting the 12th Annual Plant Thyme Fall Luncheon and Native Plant Sale on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9 and 10 with proceeds supporting KPB environmental initiatives and programs. This year, the luncheon features guest speaker Chris Wiesinger, “The Bulb Hunter.”
The luncheon is moving to a different location this year. The luncheon and native plant sale will be Friday, Oct. 9 at the Pearland First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, (2314 N. Grand, Pearland, TX 77581). Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for silent auction and plant shopping prior to the luncheon program. As a bonus to luncheon guests, bulbs from the Southern Bulb Company will be on sale from 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The native and adaptive plant sale continues until 5:00 p.m. Visit www.mykpb.org or call 281-652-1659 to purchase tickets to the luncheon.
The native and adaptive plant sale moves to the Pearland Farmers Market Saturday morning, Oct. 10 from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The farmer’s market is located at Zychlinski Park, 2243 Grand Blvd. Plants for sale at the luncheon on Friday and Farmer’s Market on Saturday are Texas native and adaptive plants carefully selected by KPB volunteer Linda Cowles and her team of local area gardeners. The plants selected thrive in Brazoria County soil and weather conditions.
There is still time to be a luncheon sponsor. Contact Andrew Miller at 281-652-1773 for information on sponsorship levels and benefits.
