The famous Buc-ee’s beaver will soon call Pearland home.
The Lake Jackson-based mega-travel center giant on Sept. 17 announced it will move part of its headquarter operations to Pearland, leasing a 4,900-square-foot space in Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway.
The Pearland Economic Development Corp. began working with the company earlier this year.
Buc-ee’s operates its “travel centers,” super-sized stores with up to 120 fueling stations, throughout the central and Gulf Coast region of Texas. The company opened its first convenience store in Lake Jackson in 1982 and now operates 31 stores, all in Texas.
Buc-ee’s plans complete construction and to begin operations at its new Pearland office in early 2016. Approximately 20 employees will work at the new partial headquarters location, providing human resources and legal functions that support its stores across the state.
