Thompson: District would benefit from road funding

One of the constitutional amendments on the November election ballot in will provide much needed funding for the state’s infrastructure, Rep. Ed Thompson stated during his appearance at the 288 Corridor Rotary Club.

Thompson referred to Proposition 7, which dedicates certain sales tax revenue and motor vehicle sales tax revenue to the state highway fund beginning in 2018.

Due to the growth and activity in northern Brazoria County, District 29 will be positively impacted by the measure passes, he said.

Thompson has announced plans to run for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives. He ran unopposed in the 2014 election.
