Walter Guy Fowlkes, Sr., 77, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Katherine Fowlkes; brothers, Robert and Jack Fowlkes; and sister, Elaine Fowlkes. Walt is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sylvia Fowlkes; sons, Wally Fowlkes and wife, Grace, Joey Fowlkes; daughters, Jennifer Cannon and husband, Travis, Vonna Hamlin and husband, Tim; brother, Jerry Fowlkes and wife, Linda; sister, Clara Jewett; grandchildren, Jordan, Kaylee and husband Jared, Hayden, Chandler, Tabby, Michelle, Chris; great grandson, Mason; and a host of other family and friends.
A visitation and rosary for Walt was held Monday, November 2, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The funeral mass took place Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland, Texas 77581 with Father James Courville officiating.
