hawesEvan Robert “Bob” Hawes, 83, of Beaumont, TX passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 27, 2015.  He was born July 31, 1932 to Evan R. Hawes and Addie L. Stewart Hawes in Port Arthur, TX.  He proudly served in the United States Navy from June 1951 to June 1955 during the Korean Conflict.
After graduation from college, Bob served in the Texas Public Schools for 35 years.  After retirement, he worked in the Volunteer Christian Builders Organization until he was no longer able to serve.
Mr. Hawes leaves the following survivors, his wife Barbara whom he married in 1959; 3 children, Jena Renee Haynes and her husband George Haynes, Lisa Diane Dodson and her husband Mark Dodson, and Randall Kyle Hawes and his wife Jennifer Hawes; 4 grandchildren, Marissa Claire Dodson, Lauren Elyce Dodson, Harrison Robert Hawes, and Abigail Grace Hawes; sister, Sarah Frances Hawes; and many other relatives and cherished friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents. 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Vidor, 350 N. Main St., Vidor, TX 77662 with Rev. Terry Wright officiating.  A visitation with the family will occur immediately preceding the service at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Vidor.
