The Pearland Police Department Crime Victim Assistance program held their annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 pm in support and remembrance of lives that have been affected or taken by a violent crime. The event opened with a performance by the Pearland High School Kantorei Choir (directed by Derrick Bready). PPD Chaplain Keith Anderson then presented the invocation followed by a welcome from Chief J. C. Doyle. Special guest speaker was Laura Wilkerson, mother of murder victim Joshua Wilkerson. Guests were then invited by Crime Victim Liaisons Jessica Toth and Velma Guadiana to place their personalized ornaments or mementos on the Christmas tree. Following the tree lighting guests were invited to a special dinner provided by local restaurants. For more information visit pearlandtx.gov/crimevictim
