Take me out to the ball game, buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks…Well it wasn’t all peanuts and Cracker Jacks for the American Force, a 6U select baseball team from Pearland – it was all business! The Force took to the road with 11 players and headed North to Dallas/Fort Worth in search of an elusive and highly coveted USSSA Baseball World Series title. American Force battled it out and went 3-0 in the pool play to earn a #2 seeding. With a 1st round bye going into bracket play things got heated quick as they were put to the test right out of the gate and narrowly escaped defeat by winning 11-10. Coming off of a close game, Force seemed to have found their groove cruising on to a cool 10-1 victory  giving them momentum going in to the third round of the winners bracket.
The third round came down to a dead lock tie in the bottom of the 6th inning forcing a sudden death finish. Force arose to the occasion and hammered the ball to put up 7 runs proving to be to much for the opposition to come back from. With this win, Force had punched their ticket into the “SHIP”. It all came down to one game against the red hot boys from Cleburne, Texas – SpitFire Baseball
The game started off with Spitfire getting up on Force 3-0 in Top of 1st. Force came back and put 2 of their own for a 3-2 game going into the 2nd inning. Top of the 2nd inning Spitfire posted two more runs making it a 5-2 ball game. Top of the 3rd Force blanks Spitfire and Force comes out and scratches two runs in to make it  5 – 4.  Top of the 4th Spitfire gets held by the Force defense to no runs, bottom 4th shot over 3rd baseman’s head and scores two runs for Force making it 5-6 in favor of Force. Top of 5th Spitfire sneaks one across the dish to knot the game at 6 – 6…bottom 5th Spitfire’s defense comes up big and holds Force. Top 6th Force holds Spitfire, bottom 6th, 2 outs runners on 2nd and 3rd, hard ground ball hit to SS, SS bobbles and shoots the ball to 1st and runner is safe and runner at 3rd scores and Force wins in walk off fashion 7-6 to bring the the belt and hardware back to Pearland.
