Scott McClelland, president of Houston area HEB stores, will deliver the keynote at upcoming New Employee Luncheon in Friendswood ISD. The event is sponsored by the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation and will be held Aug. 9 at The Green Event Center.

New faculty and staff to Friendswood ISD will be welcomed to the district as well as the city at a special New Employer Luncheon Aug. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at The Green Event Center in Friendswood.

Scott McClelland, president of the HEB grocery chain’s Houston region, will be the guest speaker for the annual event.

The luncheon is hosted by the Friendswood Education Foundation.

Gulf Coast Educator’s Federal Credit Union is the major underwriter under the direction of Joseph Ditta, who is also a director on the board of the Foundation.

The luncheon is expected to honor approximately 50 new employees, according to Foundation Executive Director Paige Ridout. At the event, new personnel will be given information about the Foundation and how it impacts all students in FISD. Beginning in 1999, the Foundation is beginning its 18th year in the district.

Tables for the event are $250 and local businesses and community members are encouraged to attend. Table reservations can be made through Ridout by calling 281-996-6655.

The Green Event Center is located at 2000 W. Parkwood Ave. in Friendswood.
