It was a Dog’s Day recently at the Friendswood Animal Control facility when a community birthday party was held for all dogs at the shelter. Considered “Dogust 1st” and recognized as the universal birthday time for all shelter and adopted dogs whose birth dates are not known, the FAC invited all to stop by for cake, punch and a chance to wish a bunch of friendly dogs a great day. Volunteers were on hand to give tours and introductions. To learn more about the shelter or adoptions, visit ci.friendswood.tx.us, call 281-996-3391, or drop by 3000 W. Parkwood Ave. Pictured: Volunteers Lisa Cox, Amy Barber, Catherine Cox, Debra Duncan, Ashley Hayden, and Cassidy Matlock holding the birthday puppies. Not pictured is Amy Castro who was the party planner volunteer for the special event. The litter of 6, along with mom, will be ready for adoption Aug. 5.
