Raffle, cook-off set for women’s benefit

A Kawasaki Teryx4 side x side raffle and a barbecue fundraiser and cook-off are some of the events featured this year at the 14th annual Women’s Center of Brazoria County Benefit Aug. 19-20 at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds.

Raffle tickets for the Teryx4 are $10 each and the winner does not have to be present to win. Drawing will take place Aug. 20 at the fairgrounds.

“The Kawasaki Teryx4 side x side is built for rugged sport performance and useful capability. It is up for any challenge,” Kathi Perkins, Women’s Center representative said. “The person who wins this will really enjoy it. It is eager for action and ready to hit the trails.”

Raffle tickets are available at 715 N. Valderas in Angleton. The winner will be responsible for tax, title and license.

The barbecue is an international Barbecue Cookers Association (IBCA) sanctioned barbecue and cook-off. Categories for the cook-off include finger food and adult beverage on Aug. 19 and beans, chef’s choice, chicken, pork spare ribs and brisket on Aug. 20. Trophies in both categories will be presented to winners.

Live auction will take place and benefit merchandise will be available for purchase.

Southern Kin Band will perform Friday night, Aug. 19. A car and bike show will be held Saturday, Aug. 20.

The Brazoria County Fairgrounds are located at 901 Downing in Angleton.

The Women’s Center of Brazoria County, Inc is a not-for-profit organization providing services to Victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault since 1982.
